What's happening in Cranberry Portage in the next while???

HOME ROUTES April 15

Svøbsk is a Danish folk duo (and sometimes quartet) led by accordionist MAREN HALLBERG and fiddler-multi-instrumentalist JØRGEN DICKMEISS, whose music bridges the boundary between time-honoured tradition and fresh innovation.

With over 20 years of collaboration, they’ve released multiple albums and captivated audiences across Denmark and international folk festivals. Their latest album Sorgenfri (2023) marked a return to their original duo setup and was hailed as one of the “top 10 album releases of 2023” by Danish folk media. Svøbsk’s performances weave together foot-stomping reels, delicate airs, stirring vocals, and an atmosphere of warmth and connection. Whether in a festival tent, a cozy concert hall, or a folk dance evening, their sound is haunting, spirited, and deeply rooted.
