The Backyard Betties are a Calgary-based folk/Americana band known for honest songwriting, tight harmonies, and warm, intimate live shows. Led by award-winning songwriter Nancy Laberge, the band also features Pip Hazell on harmonies, Mark Cassano on guitar, and Aleksandra Danicic on bass and fiddle. In 2024, they won the YYC Music Award for Folk Recording of the Year for "The High," followed by a 2025 nomination for "Blame it on the Red Wine." Laberge also won the People's Choice Award at the Edinburgh Folk Club Songwriting Competition for their upcoming release "Not Good For Me." The band is currently working on their next album, "Good To Be Back Home."

Lindy Vopnfjörð is a Hamilton, Ontario-based folk rock singer-songwriter of Icelandic-Canadian heritage, born and raised in Manitoba. He began performing traditional Icelandic songs with his family as a child before co-founding the group Northern Junk with his brother, and later played in the indie rock band Major Maker, whose single "Rollercoaster" charted on Billboard's Canadian Hot 100. Across seven solo albums, Lindy has performed everywhere from house parties to embassies to major festivals like Osheaga and Winnipeg Folk Fest. His 2013 album Young Waverer charted on CBC Radio 2's Top 20, and his latest release, State of the Heart, blends his signature folk sound with a modern edge.

Q (they/them) is a two-time Irish Music Award-winning nonbinary folk and Celtic artist based on Esquimalt / Songhees and Lekwungen territories, following years abroad in Amsterdam and Limerick. Formerly known as Qristina Brooke Bachand, they're known for powerful fiddle playing, emotive vocals, and a raw, engaging stage presence that moves between rebel ballads and foot-stomping traditional tunes. Q holds an MA in Traditional Irish Music Performance (first-class honours, University of Limerick) and an MSc in Infectious Diseases & Public Health from VU Amsterdam. They're the current president of the Victoria Fiddle Society and a sought-after fiddle teacher, having taught at festivals and camps across Canada, the US, and Europe. Living with schizoaffective disorder, Q draws on their experiences with mental illness and recovery as a vital source of artistic resilience and meaning.
